“Never give up on something that you can’t go a day without thinking about.” ―Winston Churchill

Remember when you applied for your first real job? You'd waited for what seemed like forever for this opportunity. This was it, And now, it would be up to you to convince the powers that be you're the perfect fit.

I’ve had the privilege of writing two full-blown musical plays. I wrote the music, lyrics, and script. Each took years to develop. What started as a hobby became a passion that turned into a venture.

Both musicals were backed by private investors, the most significant JuJamCyn, Inc., who own and operate five Broadway Theaters.

The first musical opened in Minneapolis, and went on to premier in Sweden. The next play, entitled Eden, was met with standing room only and rave reviews.

To see my work come to life on a stage was exhilarating but the road to develop a full-blown musical was all encompassing. The passion was deep but I also had the responsibility of a full-time job.

But as Winston Churchill said, you can't give up on something you think about everyday.

Eight years ago, I left my position as the director-of-marketing for long-term healthcare centers and started my career as an author. Writing was a part of me I couldn't give up. Whereas before I reported to one boss, this one would require me to prove myself to thousands of bosses.

In 2016, I had a life-changing event when I brought home a beautiful six-pound baby boy from the hospital and he decided to stay. : ) Lukas not only fills my heart with joy but adds a purpose I never knew was coming.

And now my four-year-old is about to enter the wild world of pre-school. This will not only offer time to polish off the sequel to parapsychology thriller MIRACLE but pen a story that has been burning in my brain way too long.

I'm reaching out to readers who demand complicated plots, enter the lives of complex characters, and those who need an ending that makes them never want the story to end.

Every novel takes a year to more to develop. Why? Because I promised myself I would never settle for a book that did not meet the above criteria.

I’m asking for a few minutes of your time to read the first three or four chapters of one of my novels FREE. By the time you finish the excerpt you’ll know if this story if one you have to read.

How many times have you wished you could have read the first few chapters of a book free so you wouldn’t have wasted your money?

This post is about pairing one reader with one author to see if they have a future together.

In order to succeed, novels need tons of reviews. Every single review counts. I'm asking if you choose to read a book that you write an Amazon review.

Am I asking you to write a good review if you don't enjoy the story? No. This is not a charitable plea. It is offering you a slice of a novel you will hopefully enjoy.

All my books have excellent reviews on both Amazon and GoodReads. But it’s going to take a ton of reviews to lead others to find a novel they might have otherwise passed by.

If you write a review please let me know by writing me on my contact page at https://www.kimberlyshursen.com/. I would love to thank you personally.
